Newsletter No.5 - January 2017
President's Report

Welcome to the newsletter for January 2017. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, a joyous and festive New Year, and a relaxing break and that you are now ready for a great 2017.
2016 was brought to an enjoyable conclusion with the Christmas lunch at Allegro’s Function Centre. It was very well attended with nearly 80 members enjoying a pleasant lunch in a congenial atmosphere.
As you know, the January members’ meeting has been postponed because many members felt that they would still be in holiday mode or unable to attend. The rooms at the Cherrybrook Community Centre are also being refurbished and the estimated completion date was too close to the meeting date for comfort.
January activities will start off a bit slow but will be back in full swing by the end of the month and February. The revised calendar and updated Activity Leaders reports are available on the website.
Looking ahead, the first members’ meeting will be on 22nd February. At that meeting we will attend to a couple of minor modifications to the By-Laws. Notices will be emailed to all members well before the meeting. The March meeting will also be the Annual General Meeting as required by Probus South Pacific. At that meeting, the Club is also required to elect a new Committee to take the Club through the 2017-18 year. More on that next month.
Please remember also that we are always looking for ways to improve the Club. If you have any ideas on ways we could develop, or ideas for something new, please feel free to talk to any of the Management Committee or contact me direct.
We can all look forward to an exciting year for this great Club of ours. See you at the February meeting.
