President's Report
Ian Roberts President
Welcome to the Newsletter for January 2018.
Welcome also to a New Year. I hope you all enjoyed the festivities over the Christmas – New Year break and had a great time with family and friends.
Although we have not, yet, had final confirmation of our bookings for the Redgum Hall for the 2018 calendar year, all the indications are that our tenure for the next year is safe. We have been working on a “Plan B” just in case the Community Centre does not come through.
Our AGM will be held in February this year rather than March because of a clash with the cruise. If you feel you would like to join the Committee, it is still not too late to put in a nomination. The Club and the various Committee positions have settled into an “ongoing” mode which means that the roles are not onerous and do not demand a lot of your time. Nominations need to be with the Secretary (Cathy Turner) by the end of January.
The Christmas lunch at the Waterview Restaurant at Berowra Waters was a great success with 80 members attending. Judging from the feedback, everyone enjoyed a relaxed and enjoyable lunch. What a great way to end the year. The purpose of Probus is to provide Fun, Fellowship and Friendship. With 21 Activity Groups in place, I feel that we are doing extremely well in supporting the ideals of Probus. What a great Club we have.
Remember, as always, if you have any ideas or suggestions, please contact any of the Committee and let them know.
I look forward to seeing you again at the next meeting.
